Ideas on How to Develop a Niche Marketing Strategy
Four Tasks on the “To-Do” ListOnce you find an area in demand and you feel you can fill that void, move on to the four basic tasks involved with developing niche marketing strategies. The tasks include:
Choosing Your NicheThe crucial step in any niche marketing strategy is the first one -- selecting the field of focus you’ll be working in. This could be small engine repair, herb gardening, tourist travel on St. Thomas, stamp collecting, and so on. It must be a niche you are comfortable with and are confident in your knowledge of all aspects of it. Once you’ve picked a field, you’ll be developing strategies for niche marketing that will include doing a thorough search on keyword phrases to see what the demand is out there; that is, if and how many other people (as in “potential target customers”) are looking for what you plan to offer.
Begin the Keyword Search PhaseAll niche affiliate marketing strategies must involve the marrying of the theme-based site + keywords. For the most part, start with the broadest keyword phrases first then work down the list to more relevant phrases which would better represent your site. When identifying niche keywords and phrases, include variations, and also check for misspellings, long tail keywords, and related phrases. There are several good niche market research tools you can find online to help you identify the ones you’ll want to try first.
Writing Unique ContentYou will likely come across the term natural search while developing your niche marketing strategy. Industry insiders refer to natural search as representing all unpaid search results that are ranked by relevance on the SERPs, as opposed to paid searches which are the PPC ads listed on the right side of the SERPs. Keep in mind that things like Meta tags, page titles, and clean HTML don’t matter much to the search engines if the content isn’t on the page. So writing unique content and using keywords as a means to score well in the natural search should be your main focus when launching a new site.
Joining Affiliate Networks, Merchants, & ProgramsAnd finally, joining an affiliate program is where you tap open the income stream. There are large numbers of merchants out there but the ones you will want to partner with will depend on the marketing strategy for your particular niche. The merchant you want may offer a program at a third party network such as Linkshare, or perhaps may offer a program directly in-house. Once you’ve registered for the program the merchant will provide the text, banner, and video ad links that you drop into your site. You’ll also have many options such as making changes to the ad creative, altering the landing page to a specific product, cloaking the link and so on. To recap: a niche marketing strategy can be effectively developed once you identify a field you have a great deal of knowledge of. Use specific keywords on your site to bring in targeted traffic, offer unique content to assist your customer, and then provide them a link to the product or service they seek. In the end, these strategies will help you create a money-making niche affiliate site and you’ll be helping people to find solutions to their needs. What can I say? Life has never been better. Freedom is something that can't be paid for. It's not that I work less, I probably work more than I ever did, but I do it on my own terms. It doesn't feel like work at all.I am confident that I will never have to work for others again unless I want to!
